April 11,2016 marks the Police Departments 30th anniversary. 30 years ago today the Town Board voted to eliminate the constable position and create a police department. In recognition of the anniversary, throughout the coming months I would like to share bits of history as well as a few of the letters from folks recognizing the milestone. Thanks to all of those who have come before us to create what now exists. The first officers hired were Jerry Higgins and Don Anderson. On April 19, 1988 Anthony (Tony) Kemnitz was hired. Tony went on to be the Town’s first Police Chief.
